Pearl District Running Club
The Pearl District Running Club includes all kinds of runners and walkers doing many different distances and paces, from the weekend jogger to the daily 20-minute runner to the serious road racer.
Club members gather for an informal distance run on Saturday mornings at 8:30a.m. at Jamison Square. This is a great opportunity to discover the social aspects of running. All ability levels are welcome. Runners can group themselves based on pace and then go out for runs ranging from 5-20 miles through NW Portland, around the Willamette River via the Eastbank Esplanade and Waterfront Park or just stroll through the Pearl District.
Pearl District Running Club will be asked to volunteer in advance to put out water at three locations. The runners congregate back at Jamison Square after finishing to continue discussions or to get a cup of Joe to go. The runs are very informal, with the only formality being that they always start at exactly 8:30a.m. This is an especially great way to train for the marathon distance, running in the company of friends.
Please note that the courses are on public streets or trails, and thus caution should be exercised; the Pearl District Running Club assumes no liability for runners or walkers making use of the group runs.
