Casually elegant in decor and cuisine, and more casual in mood, the restaurant opened in July, the creation of owner and executive chef Giorgio Anastasio Kawas. Kawas, a recent addition to Portland’s scene, grew up in Italy and started cooking in a restaurant in Ferrara, near Bologna, when he was 14.
